Mccain for me, not because Palin is hotter than Biden. Mccain because he’s old and experienced, at least more than Obama. Mccain because he’s a war hero, and I’m biased that way.

Inadequacy

Today I feel inadequate.

I feel stupid, because I do not know as many things that I thought I should.

I feel lousy, because I do not exercise as much as I would have want.

I feel slow, because I am not as efficient as I want.

I think time passes too quickly. This reminds me of that stupid cashback show where the person wishes time stops or slows down or some shit. Like I said, it’s a stupid show, but argh, it has left an impact on me, which makes it… a show so bad it makes me remember it?

Anyway, I’m just tired. Maybe I’m burnt out. Maybe I’m not doing it the right way that’s why I feel so tired all the time.

Back to work.

Controversial New Yorker cover depicts Obama as Muslim, wife as armed terrorist

WASHINGTON – BARACK Obama’s campaign says a satirical New Yorker magazine cover showing the Democratic presidential candidate dressed as a Muslim and his wife as a terrorist is ‘tasteless and offensive.’ The illustration on the issue that hits newsstands on Monday, titled The Politics of Fear and drawn by Mr Barry Blitt, depicts Barack Obama wearing traditional Muslim garb – sandals, robe and turban – and his wife, Michelle – dressed in camouflage, combat boots and an assault rifle strapped over her shoulder – standing in the Oval Office.The couple is doing a fist tap in front of a fireplace in which an American flag is burning. Over the mantle hangs a portrait of Osama bin Laden.

‘The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create,’ said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton. ‘But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree.’ A spokeswoman for The New Yorker did not immediately return a call.

The magazine’s editor, Mr David Remnick, said in a statement to the Daily News in New York that he was surprised by the reaction.

The cover ‘combines a number of fantastical images about the Obamas and shows them (the images) for the obvious distortions they are,’ he said.

‘Satire is part of what we do, and it is meant to bring things out into the open, to hold up a mirror to the absurd,’ Remnick said.

Republican John McCain’s campaign spokesman, Mr Tucker Bonds, agreed that the cover was ‘tasteless and offensive.’ Already the cover was generating controversy on the Internet.

The Huffington Post, a left-leaning blog, said: ‘Anyone who’s tried to paint Obama as a Muslim, anyone who’s tried to portray Michelle as angry or a secret revolutionary out to get Whitey, anyone who has questioned their patriotism – well, here’s your image.’ — AP

Disillusioned.

Sometimes in my otherwise very happy and optimistic life, I get disillusioned.

My boss gives me quite some work to do. She has high hopes of me, and the higher management recognises this ‘potential’ in me as well.

I actually enjoy doing all these, because I relish the power in me to inspire and create an impact on students’ lives. Many a times, though, I find myself totally stressed out with too many things to do and unsure of which priority ranks the highest.

What I am starting to feel disillusioned with, is the fact that my boss frequently tells everyone how great it is to have us on the team. At first, I was really thankful and feel appreciated. She is a great boss. She makes us feel that we work together as a team; that I am working for the department, and not for her or her promotion or whatever. She is really good at people management. From my stay in this school, I can tell the students and the staff like her, unlike the comments reserved for other school leaders in the teaching staff. Back to my point, and that is I am starting to feel desensitised with her compliments and appreciation. Is this how people work? When you tell me countless of times how you are blessed to have me in the team, I don’t see the Nth time any more significant than the 1st? It’s like I keep saying GOOD JOB, WELL DONE, or how people have misused the word ‘super’ like supermarket and stuff?

My boss also constantly tells me I am being recognised by the higher management. When there’s work for me to do, she phrases it nicely that other leaders, or say, the principal, handpicked me for the task. I never once doubted her because of her wonderful nature of a personality, but recently, I’m disillusioned.

I just feel that I should be stronger, and work harder. But does work ever stop? I know this is what I signed up for, that you can’t just pack your bags and go home; that there should be time spent doing recreation and leisure, but whenever I do that, I find myself short of time completing things on my to do list, and that list is never, ever exhaustive of course.

I’m just really tired, and unproductive and guilty.

I should really be working much harder. People see my in school as this hyper energiser bunny, always willing to help, always smiling and always setting a role model for students.

Sometimes I’m just sick and tired of it. So, does that mean I’m not suitable for the job?

Someone once said that teachers form the highest percentage in mental institutes. I have no statistics to back me up, but hypothetically I just can’t help but agree with it.

I don’t personally like this mantra, but many teachers use it and somehow it kinda inspires me a teeny bit, and that’s
“Don’t worry. We’ll survive somehow.”

The Chernobyl disaster, or simply Chernobyl, was a nuclear reactor accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Soviet Union. It was the worst nuclear power plant accident in history and the only instance so far of level 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale, resulting in a severe release of radioactivity into the environment following a massive power excursion which destroyed the reactor. Thirty people died in the explosion, but most deaths from the accident were attributed to fallout.

On 26 April 1986 at 01:23:44 a.m. (UTC+3) reactor number four at the Chernobyl plant, near Pripyat in the Ukrainian SSR, exploded. Further explosions and the resulting fire sent a plume of highly radioactive fallout into the atmosphere and over an extensive geographical area. Nearly thirty to forty times more fallout was released than had been by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Eugene, Ore. — Tyson Gay was a blur in blue, sprinting 100 metres faster than anyone ever has.

His time of 9.68 seconds at the U.S. Olympic trials yesterday doesn’t count as a world record, because it was run with the help of a too-strong tailwind. Here’s what does matter: Gay qualified for his first Summer Games team and served notice he’s certainly someone to watch in Beijing.

“It means a lot to me,” the 25-year-old said. “I’m glad my body could do it, because now I know I have it in me.”

Wearing a royal blue uniform with red and white diagonal stripes across the front, along with matching shoes, all in a tribute to 1936 Olympic star Jesse Owens, Gay dominated the competition.

No one ever has covered 100 metres more quickly. The previous fastest time under any conditions was 9.69, run in 1996 by Obadele Thompson of Barbados.

Gay’s race came with the wind blowing at 4.1 metres a second. Anything above 2.0 is not allowed for record purposes. “I didn’t really care what the wind was,” Gay said afterward.

The official world record is 9.72 seconds, set by Jamaican Usain Bolt on May 31 in New York.
